Hi there, wow lots has happened since my last post....first and formost we had another baby - Albie William born 19/11/11. He was a very welcome addition to our family and we now feel complete. He is now 15 months old and a little character, he was walking just before 11months and hasn't stopped since. I have just finished breast feeding him a few days ago. He is always into mischief and I'm already thinking I'll get my most grey hairs from him and his antics! :-)
His dance moves, Gangnam Style and freestyle are his trademarks along with his cheese face which he first introduced us to at around 7/8 months old. He's very affectionate to his mummy and daddy mostly and dearly loves blowing raspberries on everyones belly. :-) :-)
Malia started prep last year at Ashmore Primary, she started the year with a really good teacher Mrs O'Malley but she only stayed half way through the first term then she resigned for whatever reason and she ended up with Mrs Tostee. As we suspected Malia breezed through the year with ease and made some good friends in Ellie and Ellen.
Grade 1 started at Ashmore and only lasted 2 weeks before we moved her to Guardian Angels. We were really unhappy with the teacher at Ashmore, she looked as though she hated her job and I didn't once see her smile or be helpful or welcoming. That along with Malia not having her needs met being at bright child.
Her new grade 1 teacher at Guardian Angels is Mrs Connelly and is a huge improvement on her last one. She is happy and welcoming also firm when needed.
We had her IQ test or WISC test done about a month ago to assist in choosing a new school and to help her teachers know what level she was at. It came out that she has an IQ of 136 which is better than 95% of children her age.
She is in a 'bright sparks' program that takes her out of class once a week to do more challening work and also is accellerated in class. I'm told there are a few in her class that do the same program which I think is a good thing. GA also have a swimming program which takes them to a lesson every thursday. Malia loves this the most as she's a little fish also :-)
Our little/big bear Noey is at preschool this year as one of the big kids and since loosing a few good friends to prep has not liked going. He gets upset at every drop off but always ends up having a great day, all the kids seem to love him too with at least 5 kids following him around when I come to get him. He's big into super heros and stunt shows at present. He says he will be a stunt driver, chef or pilot when he grows up. Now it's in print we will see if his early predictions come true :-)
I'll mention that he broke his leg the middle of last year the name of the fracture escapes me at the moment but his plaster was from his toes to his crutch and was very awkward. He broke it chasing after a small rubber ball along our wooden floor when it changed direction right as he was reaching out to catch it, he twisted and fell awkwardly and that's all it took. The plaster came off after 5 weeks but it took a good 3-4 months to get back to normal again.
Noah misses Malia terribly when she's at school and he's not. He dearly loves following her around and going along with her every thought and idea of a fun game. It only recently that he's been having imput into games and sometimes even Malia goes along with what he suggests! :-) (Our darling first born can be quite bossy and assertive) :-)
He's favourite thing to do at the moment is to go to Movie World, he's obsessed with the place. Loves the stunt show of course, Batman and the 3D "shoot the bad alien star fish" ride.
He'll be going to Guardian Angels next year and is looking forward to being at big school with Malia.
I have just returned this week from 4 days in Tassie for our darling Grandmothers funeral. She almost made her 92nd birthday which is coming up on the 2nd of April. It was a very sad day but also relieving know she is no longer in pain from the numerous body issues she put up with for most of her life. What an inspirational lady to have had in our lives, she will be very missed.
Fuff is now flying the Grandparent flag for my sisters and I being the only surviving one but unfortunately is battling prostate/bone cancer and is unlikely to last the year.
My darling husband is still laying timber floors and dislikes it with a passion, hopefully when I get back into the work force he can find something more tolerable to do.
I plan to do so hopefully at the start of next year when Albie starts daycare, just part time. Not sure where but will deal with that closer to the time.
Anyway this post has again updated my blog and hopefully I can remember to add to it more often.
